True Mart Supermarket – Butcher & Seafood Prep Area Flooring
The True Mart Supermarket project involved the installation of a robust flooring system in the Butcher and Seafood Preparation Area, designed to withstand the harsh conditions of food processing while maintaining high standards of hygiene. This specialized area required a flooring solution that could handle heavy foot traffic, resist moisture and thermal shocks, and be easy to clean and maintain.
Detailed Features:
- Polyurethane Cement Flooring System: A high-performance polyurethane cement was selected for its exceptional durability and resistance to chemicals, acids, and temperature variations. This flooring is ideal for areas that experience significant thermal shifts and require rigorous cleaning protocols.
- Epoxy Mortar Screed: To ensure a level and strong base, an epoxy mortar screed was applied. This layer provides additional strength and helps to manage the load and impact from heavy equipment and frequent foot traffic, which are common in supermarket preparation areas.
- Coves: The installation included forming coves at the juncture of the floors and walls. These coves prevent water and debris from accumulating in corners, facilitating easier cleaning and sanitation, essential in food preparation environments.
Outcome: The installation of the polyurethane cement flooring system has significantly improved the operational efficiency and hygiene standards of the Butcher and Seafood Preparation Area at True Mart Supermarket. The floors offer superior durability and resistance to the rigorous demands of food preparation, enhancing both worker safety and product hygiene. This project is a testament to Floortek’s ability to deliver specialised flooring solutions that meet the specific needs of commercial clients in challenging environments.
